A recent snowstorm with some wind knocked down a few trees.  Several fell into the oncoming lane of traffic.  The county cut them back to the edge of the road but left some lances sticking out to skewer any car that happen to veer off the road.  It was rather imposing to drive by.  I took my little 14" Poulan chain saw which is working much better than I ever thought it would and cut them back a bit.  The pictures show the condition before I started cutting and what was left when I was done.

This is before.  Notice the logs on the ground to flip you over and the trunks sticking out ready to punch right through the car.

After I was done, a person could still get in trouble but no worse that hitting any of the other trees that are about 10 feet from the road.
